How can we find the best floor plan for our new home?

Hyde Homes has a great number of plans to choose from. We are willing and able to help you find the plan to fit your personal needs. We have several excellent and trained new home specialists who will make the process easy for you based on your lifestyle needs.

Once we've made our decisions and the house has been started, how often do we need to go to the construction site to check on progress?

Building a home is an exciting time! We have an online program called Buildertrend, that we use, that you won’t have to go to the site at all. Once you have made your decisions from our showroom, it's our job to see that the construction is done correctly. Our project managers will be uploading pictures every Wednesday of your home to show you exactly what is happening at the building site. You will be able to access this information at any time and any place!  We always use this to keep you informed. We realize that you might like to see the actual progress in person as well. For your safety as well as our contractor’s safety, we ask that you schedule visits with your New Home Specialist so that our contractors may plan. 




Does Hyde Homes warrant your new home?

Every home we build is entirely warranted for a full year, with a ten-year warranty provided for the structural elements of the home. We can provide you with a hard copy or you may access an online copy of all warranties.

I’m interested in buying a new Hyde home. Where do I start?

We’re excited to help you! Investing in a new home is an exciting process, and there are several steps along the way.  This process can be intimidating, and we want to make your experience fun and easy.  Let us take all the stress away. The best step is to Call 256-NEW HOME and let us walk you thru the process. 

Do Hyde Homes' prices compare to other builders in Alabama?

We’re very competitive in our pricing, especially when compared to other quality builders. Most of our clients are amazed at what we provide as a standard in our homes. Combined with our process and quality control, the peace of mind you will have is priceless. However, if you’re looking for the lowest price regardless of quality, we would not be a good fit. Hyde Homes will not sacrifice our brand for profit.

I have picked out a plan and like it, but I would like to make a few changes. Do you allow changes to your plans?

Our plans are value-engineered to improve the quality of life and provide the best value. This includes optimizing square footage, adding energy-efficient features.  Your New Home Specialist will work with you to find the best home to fit your needs.

Do you have models to tour or homes under construction that I can walk through?

We have several fully furnished model homes open seven days a week to assist you with your dream home. The best way is to set up an appointment with one of our new home specialists to tour a model or se some of our homes as they are being built.  This is also a great way to see what’s “behind the walls” in our homes.




Will you help me choose my finishes such as the flooring, countertops, lighting, and fixtures for my new Hyde home?

Absolutely! That’s one of the most exciting times in the early planning stages of your home. Our Showroom Coordinator will set up a time and walk you through each choice you can make. Hundreds of options are available for your new Hyde home.

Is a new home a better choice than a used home?

Yes! Every used house on the market will have something that’s just “not right” for you, something that you will have to settle for. We build to save money on all the things that may pop up if you buy a used home. With the comfort and warmth, a new home provides your family –  there’s just no need to compromise on anything else. A new home comes with a comprehensive warranty which provides peace of mind. The ability to create your masterpiece and have things just the way you want them is another benefit to investing in a brand-new home. A new home has never been lived in, and it has that “new home smell.”  The used home brings problems from the previous owner that now becomes your problem. The used house may be cheaper, but add up the cost of what could go wrong, and then see how much you save!


I've heard building a new home is overwhelming, what makes Hyde Homes different?

What occurs during closing on my new custom home?

30 days before closing on your new home you will receive weekly emails from your new home specialist, with helpful hints (setting up your utilities, cable, garbage disposal, obtaining homeowner’s insurance, etc.)  and information vital to closing. Your new home will be presented by our Warranty Manager and Production Manager. They will also review the warranty documentation (what is covered under warranty, schedule of warranty visits, etc.). The closing will occur much like an existing home sale closing. You will receive your home binder including all your warranties, home information and of course the keys to your new Hyde Home.



How long does it take to build a new home?

The amount of time necessary to build a home depends on several things. The largest factor is the weather, especially rain, which tends to slow construction progress. Other factors include the number of changes requested by the home buyer, the degree of difficulty encountered to initiate those changes and the size of the home. Typically, new homes take between 4-5 months which includes your design consultation, walk-throughs, and new home orientation. We also try to have several homes completed or in advanced stages of construction for a quicker move-in time.
